First Taxotere Bellwether Trial Slated to Begin September 2019

The first bellwether trial in the Taxotere litigation has been scheduled for September 2019—just one of more than 12,000 liability lawsuits claiming that the chemotherapy drug’s manufacturer, Sanofi-Aventis, failed to adequately warn patients that permanent hair loss may result from taking the drug. U.S. District Judge Jane Triche Milazzo in the Eastern District of Louisiana is presiding over the lawsuits, and this bellwether trial may help assess how juries will respond to evidence presented in the thousands of other lawsuits concerning Taxotere.
